Classic film posters designed by Silvano Campeggi.
From 1945 to 1972, Silvano Campeggi worked for the major American cinematographic companies: Metro Goldwyn Mayer, Universal, Paramount and RKO,
creating over 3000 posters for films that include Gone with the Wind, An American in Paris, Singing in the Rain and West Side Story, among
countless other classics from Hollywood’s Golden Era. A significant selection of the original hand made studies and sketches along with the definitive
poster paintings is presently on display at The Point of Contact Gallery for all Syracuse art and movie buffs to relish.

A RETROSPECTIVE OF THE LIFE AND WORKS OF MASTER ILLUSTRATOR SILVANO “NANO” CAMPEGGI
Italian master Silvano Campeggi captures our city's arts venues with a major retrospective of his life-long artistic labor.
The partnership of
Syracuse venues participating in this grand retrospective materializes through the initiative of the
Syracuse International Film Festival 2007, a Point of Contact production.
Galleries participating include:
The Point of Contact Gallery
The Everson Museum of Art
The Redhouse
The Company Gallery
Each venue will cover a different era of Campeggi’s
prolific career. Many of the works
o be presented in this citywide exhibit
will later travel on to New York City's Lincoln Center
for a show that
opens in June. Maestro Campeggi will attend openings at
all the Syracuse venues on April 19, 2007, ending
this tour
at the Point of Contact Gallery for a late reception starting at 8pm.
Maestro Campeggi is the creator of the official poster for the 2007 Syracuse International Film Festival.
This collector’s limited edition print is available at the SIFF headquarters located at the Hotel Syracuse.
